Passing Variables to the XML page

28 August 2008 - 06:43 PM

Hi there,

I have a graph which pulls its data from an XML page. I have all this working fine, however I want the data on the XML page to change depending on the option selected by the user.

On my page which displays the Visifire graph I have a radio control and a button, the user should select an option in the radio control and press the button to re-draw the graph.

The XML page should be called and based on what was selected in the radio button it should display different XML.

I can think of 2 ways to do this
1) pass the radio button value in a URL variable in the link within the Visifire JavaScript which point to where the XML is - I dont know where to start with this as my pages are in ASP.net with VB scripting language so I dont know how I would pull the variable then pass it on

2) 2 When the button is pressed update a session variable, then in the XML pull the variable from the session variable. Pressing the button will case the page to refresh and vus the graph to re-draw and when it does it will redraw using the new value of the session variable - I am close to getting this working except I get some strange results, the session variable seems to update, but the XML page isnt pulling it (I have enabled session state on the XML page)

If someone can help me with either of the above, or have a better way of doing it please help!

Any help is much appreciated!
